Independent science education
Science made practical, clear, and useful
Sci Chores helps students, researchers, and curious readers understand genomics, genetics, molecular biology, bioinformatics, and the tools used to study them.
Our mission
Scientific information is often accurate but difficult to use. Our work turns complex concepts, research methods, and computational workflows into structured explanations readers can follow and apply.
We focus on practical learning: understanding why a method works, where it can fail, and how it fits into the wider biological question.
Who we write for
- Biology, biotechnology, and bioinformatics students
- Early-career researchers and laboratory professionals
- Clinicians and analysts seeking approachable background material
- Curious readers who want evidence-based science without unnecessary jargon
What you will find here
Clear explainers
Foundational and advanced guides in genetics, genomics, molecular biology, cell biology, health science, and bioinformatics.
Practical workflows
Step-by-step tutorials for sequencing analysis, programming, databases, and research methods—with limitations explained.
Research tools
Free utilities such as Pronto Primer and the ACMG Workbench, designed to support learning and careful analysis.
Editorial standards
- Evidence first: articles should rely on primary research, respected scientific organizations, textbooks, and official software documentation where appropriate.
- Clear scope: educational content distinguishes established knowledge from emerging evidence, opinion, and uncertainty.
- Human responsibility: digital and AI-assisted tools may support research, organization, or editing, but publication decisions and factual responsibility remain with the Sci Chores editorial team.
- Corrections: meaningful errors are corrected when identified. Readers can report a problem through our contact page.
- Safety: health and medical articles are educational and never replace individualized advice from a qualified professional.
About the founder
Sci Chores was founded by Taimoor Khan, a bioinformatician and clinical genomics researcher working in rare-disease whole-exome sequencing interpretation at Khyber Medical University. He created the platform to make scientific concepts and computational biology workflows more accessible beyond academic walls. Sci Chores is maintained with contributions from collaborators who support content, development, and site operations.
Taimoor’s work brings together molecular biology, phenotype-driven variant interpretation, research, scientific training, and computational tool development.
Our goal is not simply to make science sound easier. It is to make difficult science understandable without losing the details that matter.
