These terms explain how you may use Sci Chores, its articles, and its free scientific tools. By using scichores.com you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

Who we are

Sci Chores (“we”, “us”, or “our”) is an independent science education website run by Taimoor Khan from Peshawar, Pakistan. It publishes guides on genetics, genomics, molecular biology and bioinformatics in English and Urdu, and offers free tools such as Pronto Primer and the ACMG Variant Classification Workbench.

Educational information, not professional advice

Everything on Sci Chores is for general education. It is not medical, diagnostic, clinical, legal, or financial advice, and it does not create a doctor–patient or consultant–client relationship. Do not use our content to diagnose or treat any condition; always consult a qualified professional. Our Disclaimer gives more detail.

We work to keep articles accurate and up to date, but science changes and mistakes happen. If you spot an error, please tell us and we will review it.

Scientific tools

Our tools, including Pronto Primer and the ACMG Variant Classification Workbench, are provided free for research and educational use only. When you use them:

Do not use their results for clinical diagnosis, patient care, or reporting without independent review by a qualified professional and validated methods.
Verify primers, variant classifications, and any other output experimentally or against authoritative sources before relying on them.
Do not enter names, medical record numbers, or any other information that identifies a patient or research participant.
Some tools query third-party scientific services, such as the UCSC Genome Browser and Primer3. Their own terms and availability apply, and results depend on the reference data they provide.
Do not overload the tools with automated or bulk requests, or try to disrupt or reverse-engineer them.

We may change, limit, or withdraw any tool at any time, and we do not guarantee that a tool will be available or error-free.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

break any law, or infringe anyone else’s rights, while using the site;
post spam, malware, or abusive, hateful, or misleading content;
try to gain unauthorised access to the site, its accounts, or its servers, or interfere with its security;
scrape or copy the site’s content in bulk, including for training commercial AI models, without our written permission.

Comments, messages, and other content you send us

You are responsible for anything you submit through comments, contact forms, or email. You keep ownership of it, but you give us a free, non-exclusive licence to display, store, and use it to run the site and respond to you. We may edit or remove comments that break these terms. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information.

Copyright and use of our content

Unless stated otherwise, the articles, diagrams, tools, and design of Sci Chores are owned by Taimoor Khan. You may read, share links to, and quote short passages from our content for personal, educational, or non-commercial use, as long as you credit Sci Chores and link to the original page. Teachers may use our articles in class. Any other copying, republishing, or commercial use needs our written permission.

Some images belong to other people and are used under their licences, such as the Unsplash License, or with permission; each one is credited where it appears. Those images stay subject to their owners’ terms.

If you believe something on the site infringes your copyright, contact us with the page address and details of your work, and we will respond promptly.

Advertising, affiliate links, and external sites

Sci Chores shows ads served by Google AdSense, and some articles contain affiliate links (for example to books on Amazon). We may earn a small commission if you buy through them, at no extra cost to you. Ads and affiliate links do not mean we endorse a product, and we do not control the content of ads or external websites. Your use of other sites is governed by their own terms.

No warranties

The site, its content, and its tools are provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, completeness, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement, to the extent the law allows.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Sci Chores and Taimoor Khan are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss, or for any loss of data, research results, or profits, arising from your use of the site, its content, or its tools, or from relying on them. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The effective date at the top shows when they last changed. If you keep using the site after a change, that means you accept the updated terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Pakistan. Any dispute will be handled by the courts of Peshawar, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, unless the law of your country gives you the right to bring a claim where you live.
