Enzyme regulation can occur through various mechanisms, including feedback inhibition and allosteric regulation. In feedback inhibition, the end product of a metabolic pathway acts as an inhibitor, binding to the enzyme’s active site and blocking further enzyme activity. For example, in the synthesis of amino acids, the final product acts as a feedback inhibitor to control the overall rate of production.
